In 2005, after feeling conflicted by the environmental impact of the oil and gas industry, Blake Jones got together with Ray Tuomey and Wes Kennedy to start a Colorado business. The company, Namaste Solar, would not only provide solar energy but would focus on making the largest positive impact possible for all stakeholders: employees, customers, community, investors, environment, and vendors.
Fifteen years later, the co-founders’ vision is still alive and well. Namaste Solar has persisted as one of the most well-respected solar companies in Colorado. Despite the many ups and downs in the solar industry, and thanks to our customers and the hard-working folks here, we’re proud that we continue to fulfill our purpose of transforming energy and transforming business.
Since our inception, we’ve grown from a handful of employees focused on residential solar work to an employee-owned cooperative of more than 200 people focused on everything from home and commercial solar installation to solar design and maintenance. We’ve gone on to become a Certified B Corporation, are committed to becoming a net zero company, and have actively participated in shaping the future of solar energy.
All this to say, we’ve accomplished a lot in the last decade and a half and we couldn’t have done it without the support of our customers.
