Thank you to everyone who joined us in Denver this past Friday for the Global Climate Strike. We marched with co-workers, customers, community partners, our kids, and our partners to demand action that addresses climate change. The people at the march represented a wide variety of backgrounds and interests, and everyone there was supporting positive change in their own way, whether that’s through zero waste efforts, land conservation, corporate accountability, renewable energy, or another path.
It was a great reminder that you don’t have to fix every problem yourself, but change does require people to show up and to act.
As we come back to work this week, we’re feeling reenergized in our mission to transform energy and transform business. To transform energy, we are installing solar panels in Colorado for homeowners and businesses so more people can capture the money-saving benefits of solar while benefiting the environment. Help us spread solar by sharing your enthusiasm for solar energy with those you know. To transform business, we are part of the Certified B Corporation movement that is using business as a force for good. Learn more about B Corps and look for Certified B Corps when you’re shopping for products or services; being a conscious consumer is an excellent way to make an impact in your day-to-day
Support Policies that Support Renewables
Namasté Solar is a member of the Colorado Solar & Storage Association (COSSA) and is helping pursue policies that support renewable energy in our state. Visit their website to learn more about the rules and policies that affect the solar industry here in Colorado. In addition, you can contact your Colorado state legislator and tell them you support policies that help us move toward a renewable energy future.
At the federal level, there is a bill currently in the Senate that would extend the solar energy tax credit and the credit for residential energy efficiency measures for five years. Contact your senator to help push this bill through. (Note: phone calls are an easy and often more effective way to lend your support.)
Namasté Solar and the Global Climate Strike
110 of our employees, candidates, and co-owners signed a letter in support of the climate strike, and 50 of us marched together this past Friday. Read the letter from 110 individuals at Namasté Solar and check out some of the photos from the strike.
